Why School Infrastructure Matters
ANRO was founded on a simple principle: every child deserves a safe and supportive environment in which to learn and grow.
At one school, the most urgent issue may be the lack of a reliable source of safe water. At another, it may be damaged classrooms, no electricity, or inadequate sanitation. All of these directly affect the conditions in which children learn and teachers work every day.
That is why we see school infrastructure as an integral part of education and assess each school's needs as a whole - from water, sanitation, and classroom conditions to essential learning resources.
How We Work
ANRO does not apply the same model of support to every school.
Our work begins with an individual school and an assessment of its actual situation. Together with school leadership and local partners, we identify existing challenges, establish priorities, and develop individual projects based on verified needs.
Working through local partners is a fundamental part of our approach. Because they are based in the region, they maintain regular contact with schools, help gather and verify information, coordinate work on the ground, and oversee project implementation. This allows decisions to be based on the actual situation and verified needs of each school.
In its initial phase, ANRO's practical work is focused on the Sidama Region. Here, we are developing cooperation with local partners and working directly with public schools.
